Man this thing would make a cool ratrod project. Or crawler if you know you're into that kind of thing.
Just imagine it with the roof chopped, frame shortened, wooden flat bed, and a Chevy small, block. or a four cylinder Cummins just or fun.

1) Toss the old Spicer 41 or 53 and get some Dana 44 axles front and back. Grab a Spicer 18 transfer case for funsies.
2) Install fuel injected 4.0L or 4.6L Jeep stroker engine for maximum reliability and power.
3) Keep it a nice truck that can still go wherever you need it to go that gets respectable gas mileage.
edit: I'm a Willys owner and currently lust after one of these that hasn't been chopped up yet.
